What to Expect

You may not have had a roof repaired in the past, or it has been so long, you can’t quite remember what the process involves.

We understand that the need to repair or replace a roof can be a singularly stressful activity – because you aren’t sure what to do, where to go, or what to expect when the work gets started.

And that’s why we’re here. We have been in this business a long time, and we understand what you are going through. We know that you need information first (what happened to your roof, what is the damage, does it need to be repaired or replaced, and what are all of the options that you can consider?). And we know that you need help making a decision that is right for your home and your budget. At Desjarlais Roofing, we will provide you with the information you need to make the right decision, and we will provide you with any information you need while we are working on the project.

You can expect us to:

  • Understand your concern
  • Respond to your issues
  •  Present options for you to consider
  • Stay on time and on budget
  • Leave the area spotless when we are finished.

We’ll assess the situation, provide you with options, and get to work on fixing your home. Because we know the one thing you want – is to have this project finished.

Our Process

The roofing process can be confusing because it is not something any homeowner has to deal with on a regular basis, and even if you did have a roof done at one point, the probability is that the industry has changed since that happened.

To help get you started, here is a list of the steps we follow when you call Desjarlais Roofing:

1.      First, give us a call, and tell us what your concern/issue is

2.      We’ll book a time to come out and see you, review the issue and talk with you about what you might want to do. We’ll take that time to get to know you, and your concerns

3.      If necessary, we might book time to do a home inspection, to make sure that your issue hasn’t affected other areas in the house (ventilation, soffits)

4.      During that meeting or the next day, we’ll supply you with additional information on the problem, including your options and the products available.

5.      If you requested one, we’ll give you an estimate within a week of our first meeting

6.      The estimate includes all the options we discussed (product choices, materials and colours)

7.      When we arrive to work on the project, you’ll meet our team and they will answer any other questions you might have.

8.      Before they get to work, we’ll secure the entire area - protecting everything around the area – so that the only item we are touching is the roof we are working on.

9.      And when we are completed, our team will make sure that your area is clean and left exactly the way it was when we arrived (except of course for the roof!)

Our focus is on making sure you understand the process, and you are not surprised by any activities along the way. And our on-site staff are always ready to chat with you at any time about questions you may have!

FAQ

  • My roof leaks. Do I need to have it replaced completely?

Not necessarily. It's possible that a section of your roof is loose, or that damage occured in one place only. We'll conduct a thorough investigation before suggesting repair options.

  • How long can I expect my roof system to last?

We offer a limited lifetime warranty of up to 40 years.  All our work is pro-rated for up to 15 years, meaning within the 15 year period you are eligible to receive a full manufacturer's warranty.

  • Are your services covered by my home insurance?

Yes, we are certified installers by the manufacturer's and we have all our warranties, WCB and Liability insurances.

  • When is the best time to do roofing repairs?

Obviously you'd want to get things done before the roof starts to leak, but if you notice any old shingles start losing their granules, or if they look like they're curling up, these are good indicators to get them repaired.
